Driver door issue

‘02 bmw 540i drivers door control module will not function at all, checked fuses and they all seem fine,
drivers door will neither lock from the central lock button or when using the key on the outside(will turn but does not lock/unlock). All doors lock by using remote key and central lock except the driver door. Driver door module will only roll down it’s window but cannot roll down other door windows, and it can control driver side mirror but not passenger side…
I have even changed the whole door and still had the same issue, I’m so lost now, I have pretty much exhausted all options but cannot find a solution for this problem 🤦‍♂️

I'd start with checking the GM3, its the big white box sitting just behind the glove box. I believe there are 3 wiring harnesses that are plugged into it.

-This site shows you how to access the module: BMW General Module 3 removal E39 5-series
Click the link at the bottom of that page labeled, “BMW General Module III (GM3) Page” to learn everything there possibly is to know about BMW GM’s.-

That's where all the signals are sent for things like the windows and mirrors. It’s possible it has gotten wet due to seals leaking overtime or possible sunroof drain malfunction. Also a good place to look would be under the passenger side carpet, there is a fuse box that is known to rust over and cause all sorts of electrical mayhem.

You can find the description and location of said fuse box in this thread made by the notorious @bluebee : https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/.../picture-amperage-description-of-every-single-fuse-relay-in-the-bmw-e39.679306/

How long have you had the car?

You do know there is a button on the master window switch panel to shift the control between the left and right mirror, yes?

It almost sounds like the driver's door lock is faulty for starters.

Did the windows use to roll down from the master control?? Is the window defeat button engaged?
