Anyone aware of a DIY for fender replacement? Got into a little fender bender and a local reputable body shop quoted $2400 for the repair- yikes. Sourced a hood, fender and headlight assy for $300, just looking for some tips, tricks of the trade, etc.

Thanks.

If it didn't bend your body, DIY it's not that difficult, I am in the same situation as you, need hood, left fender and left headlight/assy

Unless you have alot of artistic talent or construction trade talent, I would stick to changing the parts out for used ones, then let the body shop do the paint work. Basically a unbolt and bolt on process, and probably a few clips to pop too. Be careful with the clips, use the special tools or you will break them. If you paint yourself, you will need to know the right grits to use and how to wet sand and buff properly. Get the newest book on it off amazon.com.

Once you hold

The parts in your hands to see where and how it bolts up is a no brainer. make sure you take your time with alignment issues so the body lines line up etc...once it is tight ...then get the prep work done for the paint and shoot it...none of this is that difficult, just take your time especially in preping the surface for paint...GL

I haven't done one of our cars yet, but I have done others and really nothin to it...
