F10 Headlight Module programming

Apologies as I know this has been covered but I am really confused. I have a 14' 535i M. Recently I replaced the headlight control module on the driver's side due to water damage. Shawn provided me with the most recent Esys 3.30.1 and PSZDATA. I injected the latest I-level into the TMS which did not have a CAFD file and that headlight does now level and work in sync with the passenger side.

Shawn's instructions on a previous post.
"Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on desired ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE"

The reason I replaced the headlight module was because the angel eyes and amber led marker were not working and after coding they are still not working. Am I missing something? I have searched and read for for weeks and the more I read the more I get confused. Some things to note

I checked all fuses and they are good
The headlight module is new and not used

Thank you in advance

Still working on it. I had an independent shop (strictly vehicle programming) look at it and he couldnt communicate with the drivers side TMS which was an aftermarket unit. Ive since purchased a new BMW module and swapped it in. Going to download ISTA this weekend and keep working on it. Fingers crossed

Ended up bringing it to the dealer and they programmed the headlights and there are no more error warnings. Passenger side works correctly, drivers side Halos and amber marker are not working. Tried swapping the led drivers with no change. The wiring integrity may have been compromised from the water. Aggravating....

What did they charge to do this programming?

I am getting the 800FC2 error "Initilisation fault in headlight driver module, right". I bough the car with an aftermarket TMS module in the passenger side light and I bought another aftermarket TMS and tried it. Both give the same error.

I think I need to use ISTA to initialize it but I don't have a working copy... yet.

I have a 2014 535 xdrive LCI with driver side halos flickering when the stop/start feature engages. I'm guessing the driver's side TMS module is starting to fail, and curious if anyone knows if purchasing an OEM TMS module requires coding or if it's plug and play? I don't have coding capability and trying to avoid a dealer visit who might try to change out the entire assembly. Online TMS replacement videos look straight forward, but I'd rather not go through the installation hassle to realize once installed I need to code and end up creating a bigger issue for myself with a dealer trip to explain what I tried to do. It has adaptive headlights/ xenon (non-LED).

After looking up VIN on realoem.com, I'm considering getting: Genuine BMW 63-11-7-440-877 | Control Module | FREE Shipping on Most Orders $499+ OEMG! | getBMWparts

I'm also uncomfortable purchasing off of Alibaba / using Chinese knock-offs as I don't have time to return/replace etc. If folks have a reputable recommendation for the part, I'm all ears.

any insights are appreciated

@Almaretto I see you commented above - do you believe my situation is 'no coding required?'

i bought two aftermarket tms modules as well. both didnt work out the box. and ista tells me that the module isnt genuine, this is using an old e90 KDAN cable to connect to my f10 550xi 2011 , i even bought a yellow cord which is confusing to figure out with the ethernet to usbC adatper.

headache at this point, no shop wants to work or try to code because they want a new headlight or wantto seal the current one for half the price of a new headlight.... im just buying time but i want my adaptive functioning back.

my old module worked with the AHL the only thing was the issue is the DRL ring and when i swapped out to after market Adaptive stoped functioning.

It appears that the info on Youtube about just replacing the TMS is incorrect. Hopefully someone with more knowledge and experience can post a DIY and resolve this issue.

Meanwhile I will keep trying to fix it as well.

GL!

Sorry on my English, I hope you will understend me 😆 Thanks in advance.

did anyone here manage to solve the dreaded problem with there halos? I had the same problem as every other BMW owner. Replaced the whole headlight with a new one along with new module and Halo bulbs. Then used Protool (excellent software) to code the accent light and adaptive back onto the module which worked fine. but wont teach in the halos on my F10 lci. I am doing my nuts in trying to figure out possible solutions. The worst part is when I plug in the ISTA and run the teach in process it works perfect every function works as it should but when I unplug the OBD2 or turn ignition off then back on the module resets, an am back to square on. What am I doing wrong or any advice would be helpful

I have no guide for this. If you replaced any ECU's, you need to inject CAFD and VO Code it, and then initialize the lights in ISTA.

Hi Shawn. I have the símilar problem: replaced TMS modules amd now vertical aim is all over the place. Passenger side DRL are not workimg.

When you say "inject CAFD" : which software are you referring to? E-Sys?

I own Bimmer Utility but think i need a newer E-Sys like 3.30 with the psdzdata full. All E-Sys I have found are full of viruses.

Can you tell me how to get a working E-Sys?
