I dont think so. The centre console does, so Im assuming you use that for security.

 

yeah thats what the middle ones for the one by the 6 disc cd changer doesn't :roundel:

 

I f i lock my center console my glove box is locked also ,lock your center console then try to open your glovebox you'll see it won't open

 

That doesnt work on my car. Locking the middle only locks the middle, not the glove compartment.

 

...and after several years of owning the car, I'm still learning new tricks! Good find!

I believe this is not a US feature. Does not work on either of my 7's (2004/2011). I tried yesterday.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but does anyone know how to remove the flashlight out of the glovebox? I can't find it in the manual and I can't pull it out...lol

 

lol i've been having the same problem! i don't want to pull on it too hard 'cause i'm afraid i'll break it or something :rofl:

 

On the flashlight pull it out w/your left hand a lot easier And on locking the center console & it locks the other one I don't think mines does that either :banghead:

 

I tried locking my center and all that locks is my center, not the glove box in front of the passenger.

I have to admit I didn't know about this either, but then again, all BMW manuals are written for LHD models..
As a UK owner, it will be interesting to see if we've got this feature..I'll check later on.

 

No it doesn't, not on the UK model so if this is true, it's VERY specific...

 

Tried mine and the glovebox does not lock.

Regarding the flashlight, it should just pull straight out. It may be that it has not been removed in a long while and needs a good tug!!!
