Got the INPA K+Dcan cable, where is the software?

I got the cable, but the software on the CD did not work. I am looking for a download online, but there seems to be several different software versions. Which one should I download? I also wonder if the INPA software will only run on a Windows XP laptop, as it seems like most people use this? I only have a laptop with Ubuntu, and a desktop with Windows 7.

You can get the software by searching the e39 board.. There's a mega thread. Should be a couple pages back. Or if you check the comments section of the product you bought there should be links like in Amazon's customer reviews or on xcar360's reveiw section.

Ideally you need any Windows machine. Or if your laptop is beefy enough run a virtual desktop, install xp and inpa/ediabas in there. Youll probably have to find way on how to link your physical ports to the virtual desktop ports but that should be easier on Linux.

Or you could dual boot xp and have a small dedicated os just for diagnosing. A bare xp setup with some apps should take a max of 10gb.

I've been doing some searching, I find literally thousands of requests where every reply is "PM'd". Aren't there any download links posted in the forum?

Are there any downsides to downloading an older version of INPA? My car is an e39 from '97 and it seems like the older versions are easier to find in English.

Why dont you contact whoever you purchased from? I mean you paid for it, if it doesnt work they owe you a copy that does. I have yet to find a clean download thats free and works without issues.
