Ok i been trying to disable my speed volume control for the longest time, but with no luck. I looked in the manual and it doesnt help at all.

I have the navi unit (bigger screen) and i dont have that RMS button that the manual asks for... so does anyone know how to turn off the speep sensitive volume control?

I don't have the NAV but I've been able to turn mine down to 1. It runs from 1 to 6, 6 being the most sensitive. I still notice a slight increase in volume when getting up on the highway, which is annoying because I normally play my music at the level right before distortion. I don't know if there is a way to turn it completely off, so I'm not really answering your question but if anyone else knows the answer I'd like to know also. Thanks!

On the non-Nav head units, on the left side of the unit under the volume control, there are three buttons, "+", a musical note, and "-". Press and hold the Note button until the display says "Speed Volume" (something like that) and release the button. Then use +/- to raise/lower the sensitivity, and then the Note key again to accept the change.

For my unit w/o nav ...

1 hold music-note key until you see "SPEED VOL n"
2 push "+" or "-" to adjust range 1-6
3 push "MODE" key

hmmm navi must be different cuz i dont have that music note anywhere...
i never figured that out either on my 330ci.
when i went to the volume and turned it low from the screen, that shit was still loud as hell.
anyway the car is gone, so no issues anymore.

LOL!

what am i doing wrong? on my non-nav unit, when i press and hold the music-note all it does is say "FLAT"-- meaning i've reset my bass, treble, balance and fader settings to default.

AFAIK, on the non-nav unit, you have to press and hold the "note" button *within* 2-3 seconds of turning the ignition to "accessories" position in order to reach the menu for speed volume control...

BMW Business CD

If I remember correctly:
Turn radio off.
Turn it on.
Press the "note" key for a few seconds until the S/N of the unit comes on the display.
Use the +/- buttons to browse through the selections till it says GAL (does anyone know what this means in German?)
Use the </> buttons to adjust the GAL value.
Turn the radio off.

When I first enabled the speed-volume control the display was GAL(1-6). As soon as I enbaled it I can choose values 1-6, but I don't know if there is a way to turn it completely off. I use 3 in everyday driving.
