so i just followed all the instructions step by step, edited the edibias.ini file to be stdbd as that wasn't set to that, etc. But the next step was to check the OBD.ini file, but there isn't one?

What gives? Everything else is set up fine, except this part.

Appreciate any help, trying to unbrick my 2007 E87 with steering lock from a low battery ( i think), changed the battery this morning.

You should not need to go near the OBD.ini file
Are you able to connect to car or not?

 

Oh ok.

No i can't connect to the car, and I've followed the installing guide that came with 4.09.

Plugged it in, and pressed the start button so the red exclamation mark was illuminated on the dash and then started the application.

 

Ah ****, i missed the "come back to the ediabas step" lol.

Do i remove everything and start again?

 

Well, i installed the easybmwtools, but the device installation that is part of that program failed.
