M57 Engine swap

Hi is any advise or any things to look out for while doing an engine swap?
Is it a big and awkward job to get it all working again or will more need replacement to

The tricky part is if you can't use the same DME or if you put a car motor into suv and need to make adjustments.

Identical engine from same model car is pretty straightforward.

Will I have to reprogram the ecu
