I have a problem with my driver side mirror. It won't fold up.

I noticed that sometimes it wouldn't fold one or the other. Then I would wait for a couple of seconds (I guess because the is a capacitor that needs to be charged before folding the mirrors) and then it would do it. Also, if you are reversing and the park distance control (PDC) is beeping, then it wouldn't fold up. I guess this is a security measure.

Anyway, last night even if I waited, my driver side mirror wouldn't fold up. I tried again in the morning, but nothing. Could it be stuck or dirty? Could it be something electric? My passenger is working fine. Has anybody have this problem?

I fold the mirrors every night as my garage door is very tight and my M3 just fits. Now that I can only fold one mirror I have to put it in very slowly. Please help!!!

Shouldn't have bought the premium package. Go to the dealer for warranty service, of course.

 

well, if my car was still under warranty, then I would have already gone to the dealer.

 

My apology, I thought I was in E92 M3 sub forum. I knew some were complaining that their mirrors were not folding in unison, ie, one folds faster than the other, a real sign something will be going wrong, soon. You have a problem that I can vent my frustration with lux packages. I hate luxury packages. To me they are toys waiting to go wrong and it cost $$$$$$$$ to fix them. The M3 is not a Lexus, it's a car to be driven!

I appreciate you opinion, but I am trying to find a solution to my problem not the source.

There must be someone out there who has had this problem and solved it!
