Most Common Modification/Upgrades

OK, so now that I am proud owner of a Z4, I'm curious as to what upgrades/modifications people most commonly do. When I owned my Miata, headlight upgrades and seat mods were the most common and easy to do upgrades.

So, what upgrades will most enhance my ride? I have a 2007 3.0si. Looking forward to learning from the experts! I already have the MediaBridge installed (thanks to previous owner but just discovered by me!)

I got my 2007 3.0si one year ago. I have done the following to mine with satisfying results. 1) Painted the calipers red. They look great through the large, open si sport wheels. 2) Added the BMW strut brace. I feel it added a bit of stability over bumps/waves in the road. It seemed to me to help a bit driving here on the curvaceous East Tennessee mountain roads. 3) Got the windscreen from Roadster Solutions. It is half the price of the OE version and looks good. Definitely needed to keep air from blowing down the back of my neck. One thing I found late last summer is that I can take the middle panel out and the small panels behind the seats block the bulk of that backwash of air. 4) Got rid of the run flats and bought the Slime tire repair kit. 5) Got a used Homelink transmitter (the style that was originally mounted in sun visors on cars) and mounted it in the small panel that is on the underside of the dash over the center console. It is opposite the Aux In jack. This was about the most useful $30 spent on the car. 6) Got a seat belt clip. The seat belt wants to ride right on the side of my neck. This clip holds the belt over to the left as it comes down across my shoulder. Makes the belt much more comfortable for me. The only other mod I am planning is the Dice Duo unit so I can mount my old iPod where the ashtray sits. I don't find the aux in jack very convenient.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the same rims, and a black Z4, so the red caliper covers would look awesome (or maybe dark gold?)

As for the homelink, I have a keyring clicker for my garage, so I'm good there.

But always good to hear what others are doing! Keep the suggestions coming! I'm always open to making my Z4 better!

I just took the coilovers off mine to trade it tomorrow, insert sad face here, they lowered it about 2 inches,, adjustable, and boy can I tell how much better it handled when they were on there. I also had a CAI which made a big difference as well. I too painted the calipers for a nice look. If you dont want to paint them, I have a set of the BavAuto brake caliper covers in red that I will sell for 30 shipped. The coilovers are $550 shipped, less than one year old. Buy the coilovers I will throw in the caliper covers. I also put the black kidney grills in which gave it a distinct look. Sorry Grills and CAI are sold.
