Hi
So forgive me but actually don’t know if all engine models are equipped with a secondary air pump - but the V8’s are and they run for the first 90 seconds or so to help lower the emissions while the engine is cold. On that air pump there is a filter, just like on the regular intake - except it is much smaller. Now Iam starting to get a rough idle in those first 90 seconds so it dawned on me that maybe it would be a good idea to replace it. Searched everywhere including NewTis and all other places I could find but nowhere is it stated that you should replace that filter. Now it only runs for 90 seconds but my car is getting old and if I say my average distance driven is around 8 kilometers then it mounts up to about 300 hours and I think that is set very low as there are many short runs.
so have anyone ever replaced such a filter? Or have an opinion about it?
Thx
PS, yes I am changing the pcv valves and switching to the never isolated hoses as soon as the temperature is above freezing. Hate not having a garage... :-(
