Service Indicator?

I think you are looking at the service interval indicator, on the top left. The bars progress from green to yellow to red, indicating how soon the next servicing should be performed. Red means you are past due.

Perhaps not, after reading your description again. Green bars going up and down?

Well Theres No Green Bars When Driving ..all My Lights Are Clear As Of Now
But When I Click The Key The 2nd Time ..i Noticed 4 Bars That Light Up Before I Turn On The Engine ....just Wondering What They Are .?

the bars are the service light.. well, more of the oil change light. it comes on when you start the car but goes away after a few seconds.

depending how anal you are, i change my oil when it's between 2 and 3... how do i know it's in between? when it clicks down to 3, i figure another 3 or 4 weeks and it should be going to the 2nd light so i change it between these times.

on an auto?? there's no tranny dipstick.

 

Really ????...yes Auto .....so The Only Way To Check Is To Bring It In The Shop ?

i do my own oil changes on my 2000 528i how do I reset the gauge for oil service?

 

Peake reset tool will do the job... cost around $Franklin and great tool to have, if you are planning to keep the car for a while...or find someone who has one....
