Approx., 4 months ago I got my car out the the shop for the cleaning of my heads which cost me about $8000. My SES light is on for secondary air flow pump which I've been told it doesn't affect driviblity. Should I pay to get the pump fixed or continue driving it as is? I've been told to do the pump it will cost $1500. Since the heads were already cleaned do anyone know if I have the pump fixed will it give me that blue smoke that everyone says will happen with this problem?

All the air pump does is provide abit more air to the engine on startup. I think you will run "rich" for abit when you startup. I cant comment as to whether or not it will damage the car. But I would say its "safe" to drive until you have the money for the fix. I would say its the perfect time for a DIY fix.

So they cleaned your heads for 8000$ without replacing valve stem caps???? Just wait you'll get the problem back in 10-20k miles.
And now they found your air pump was bad??? But usually air pump dies bc of bad egr emission valves and therefore ports were clean enough to burn the air pump with hot exhaust air. Does it make sense??

There is a guy out here that does the Valve stem seals an resurfaces the heads an all for $3300.00 I think they ripped you OFF.
