Sorry, 2 sedans here (with full size spares). Have you checked the owners manual? Or the wiki? What size did you buy? It still goes under the "trunk" floor?

Yeah, I dropped a spare tire (without a rim) into the spot in the truck area, and it sticks up so that the floor won't lay flat.

 

I have an '04 330i sedan with the factory space saver spare in the trunk. I actually had to use it on a recent trip when a tire went flat on the road.

I have the 18" wheel setup that came with the performance package.

 

What year is the 325iT? BMW switched from a full sized spare to the space saver during the E46 production run. My 2001 330Ci has a full sized spare.

 

My 03 Touring came with a space saver spare. There was a nice cover over it which let me carry some spare tools/jumper cables etc. under the cargo floor but separate from the spare. When I put new wheels on the car, I took the space saver out and put one of my old wheels (the ones in my signature pic) in the same spot. The nice cover no longer fits but the cargo floor goes down flat with room to spare, and now I have a full sized spare.
