my engine blew about a year ago and it took me forever to find a new engine with low miles to replace it with. I have just finished swapping it into my car a few weeks ago. everything went in smooth with no serious problems. I started the car and put it into reverse and it felt like it went into gear (automatic tranny) and started to back out of the drive way. I got to the street and suddenly there was nothing and on the on board display it says trans program. ive been reading about it and see there are tons of things it could be but I was wondering if it has anything to do with the new engine. most people I see can still drive in limp mode in 3rd gear but I have nothing. it changes gears from park to drive and neutral but in drive and reverse the car will not move. any ideas what could be going on? ive checked the main relay and all my fuses. they seem to be fine. if anyone could help me out I would be very greatful.

Will it move in the number gears? Did you change the fluid?, You most likely lost fluid in the change and could be low.
will not move in any of the numbered gears. and fluid was one of the first things I checked, tranny is full of fluid, no problem there. im thinking there might be a wiring harness on top of the tranny that may have gotten pulled out. tranny dropped maybe 2 or 3 inches when I pulled the engine out.
