I feel for you. I wash and wax my car almost everyday; at least 4 times for the week :rofl: So not being able to do that would totally destroy me.. I would let you use mine for free because everyone should have the opportunity to wash and clean their car. The only thing is the garage is being occupied by my mom's mercedes 24/7 and that's the best source of shade, although I apply wax on the side of my house. It's a bit of a squeeze but I still get by. We should be getting a car port put up very soon, so that will be the source of shade. If things work out I'll give you a shout. Good Luck :thumbup:

I go to this place in Hackensack, NJ sometimes for the touchless automatic car wash.

They have self car wash in the shade but I don't know how long you could just let your car sit in there. It's about 15 minutes from the GWB (10 mi.)

I see the self serv is open 24 hours. Maybe they wont notice if you use a bucket at night.

 

I just washed, polished, and waxed my car last night... So, I feel your pain.

My suggestion would be to find car wash with self wash bays. Here in CT when I drive by them, I rarely see any cars there. So, if you can find one with several bays (at least three), you can probably occupy one for couple hours.

 

Like the OP, I too would be interested in location to take the time I want to wash and wax my car not too far from NYC.

Failing to locate one, perhaps we should just open one.

 

i have the same exact problem. I often go to my fathers place to wash but my x5 won't fit in his garage. My brother lives in NJ and works at Park Ave BMW. Sometimes (rarely) i can bring my car there to wax but i have to wash someplace else as they don't have a hose at his location.

Thankfully this summer we rented a beach house that had a garage so i was able to wash/wax as much as i wanted. But winter is coming and i'm left with few options when i really need them the most.

 

just grab a 5 gallon bucket of water or 2 and go wax/wash ur car in the shade when ur done. I don't ever use a hose.
