Could you be so kind to measure the angle the radar sensors are pointing outwards?
Ideally would you post a foto, so that I can see how you measured and replicate the situation on my F20.

Hi, sorry, but bumper already mounted and I didn't measured anything, just placed in original brackets to original places.

I'd like to jump on this threat for my question.

I'd like to retrofit LCW in my new F20 LCI MY 2019 and found already well explained DIYs for 3- and 4-series.
Due to the fact that it has never been an official option for the F20 1-series the OEM mounting point for the radar sensors isn't available.
That'swhy my question to those few people which already have been done this retrofit in a F20:
How and where did you mount the radar sensors?
Maybe you can share some fotos you might have taken during installation.

I would like to post the answer to my question to help other BMW drivers w/o OEM mounting point for LWC sensors.
I measured approx. 4.5cm outward angle of the sensor at a F31 LCI.
That means the outer edge of the sensor is pivoted 4.5cm outwards compared to the inner edge of the sensor.
The sensor is mounted with cable ties and similiar auxiliary methods to maintain the correct angle of the sensor.

Hi, I am trying to retrofit 5AG option to my 2011 F10. I connected it to pins 11 and 12 zgm (not high), vo coded 5AG, injected cafd to hc2 module and initialized flexray, but when I activate it shows on kombi that is avilable after 50kmh and when I reach that speed only shows error on idrive screen. I tried couple more flexray initialization trough ista (successfully) but didn't helped.

Hello, I retrofitted 5AG on F30 prelci, F10 prelci w/o vibration motor in steering wheel. They work flawlessly w/o issue by coding vib off in ICM but on F30lci (ICM different hwel and cafd), i can not found similar line to code off vib. Question is: how to code vib off in F30 lci to use blindspot as F30prelci ? Thank you.

Hi all! I just finished retrofitting LCW and confirmed that my car was equipped with 4SK ZGW. My car is 2014 made F10LCI 520i, HC2 doesn't show up in esys now. According to advice here, I have 2 ways to go, 1 is to replace the 4SK ZGW with a 8SK ZGW and flash it to make it adapt to my car; 2 is to wire the pins to 11/12 from 1/2 and initialize FlexRay. I am a bit worried about flashing 8SK ZGW as it could brick the used 8SK ZGW, my car will be dead. Therefore I might try wiring pins to pin 11/12. Just want to make sure that if there will be any fault code pop up in the cluster if I wire the pins to 11/12. Thanks for help!

Hi Siki78! Thanks for reply! Yes, I already purchased a used 8SK ZGW from eBay, it is from 2016 made M6 donor car. According to the discussion here, I need to flash the ZGW to make it work with my car. I need help on flahsing used ZGW. Now I know that I need to connect the car to esys via gateway, then what should I do? I successfully updated my car's i-level to the latest one before, so I know how to flash other ecus, is the procedure exactly same to flashing other ecus? As ZGW does not have coding file CAFD, so it cannot be coded. After flashing the ZGW, what should I do? Just go to ISTA+ to initialize Flexray, then everything will be working fine? The attached pic is the status of my ZGW's flexray port. Thanks for help!

So the way that to use flexray port 003 (pin 11 and 12) that was talked in this forum before does not work on my case?

After checking your Configuration i would say you have got the same problem than me.
All 8 Flexray Ports are separated in 2 groups. All ports belongs to exactly on or more addtitional equippment. In case of missing all supposed equipmment for all ports in a group these group will not be installed in your car.

Group2 has the following ports:

0x04 DME for N74 or N63TU
0x05 EDC left
0x06 EDC right
0x07 PMA and Lane Change Warning

I guess you dont have the second group installed since you dont have any of the above Features. You could check my theory with TOOL32. Open ZGW01.prg run Job "status_Flexray_pfad". You probably will see only 4 Ports.

In my case i used Flexray Port 0x03 for communicating with PMA and HC2. It's on PIN 11&12 ZGW. But you have to activate those port with TOOL32 Job "Steuern_Flexray_pfad before.
After that procedure my PMA and HC2 were both visible in ISTA.

Hi 1aBimmer! In your case, is your car an F10LCI or preLCI? After connecting to pin 11 and 12 flexray port 003, does it work well? Any fault in cluster or ISTA? Thanks!
